Jack Gilbert

Jack Gilbert is an Associate Professor in the Dept. of Ecology and Evolution and Associate Director of the Institute for Genomic and Systems Biology at the University of Chicago. He is the PI of the Hospital and Home Microbiome Projects, and a leader in the American Gut and Earth Microbiome Project initiatives. His research focuses on the origin and assembly of microbial communities and their influence on myriad ecosystems, including rivers, soils, and human health implications.
